| Semis line-up drawn in U-14 kabaddi, kho-kho | | Inter-zone competitions of Jammu begin | | early times report
JAMMU, May 14: Semifinals position has been cleared in two disciplines of kho-kho and kabaddi in under-14 category of the annual inter-zone competitions (under-14 and under-17 boys and girls) of Jammu district, organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) got underway at Government Higher Secondary School, Domana, here today. On the first day of the two-day boys' events, competitions in the disciplines of kabaddi, kho-kho and volleyball took place today. The individual event of wrestling shall take place tomorrow. In two disciplines of under-14 kabaddi and under14 kho-kho, semifinals line-up has been drawn. Now, in the kabaddi semifinals, Jammu zone shall take on Akhnoor zone while Bhalwal zone shall play against Gandhi Nagar zone tomorrow. Similarly, in under-14 kho-kho, Miran Sahib zone shall meet Akhnoor zone while Bhalwal zone meet Gandhi Nagar zone.
Earlier, the district level competition was declared open by Director DYSS, J P Singh in a well attended function. Amidst oath taking ceremony by the participating contingents from different zones of Jammu district, Director encouraged the young boys and appreciated the sincere efforts of the teacher incharge for mobilizing the young boys from rural areas. Among those prominent present were Deputy Director, SS Bali, Principal of host school, Govind Ram Sharma, district officer of DYSS, Tirath Ram and other officers of the department.
