22 injured as overloaded mini bus skids off into deep gorge | Yet another mishap in Doda | | early times report Kishtwar, May 14: 22 persons were injured, four of them critically when overloaded, eleven years old minibus bearing Registration N0: JK17- 7057 on its way from Assar to Batote met with an accident near Wanipura Assar, some 38 Kilometers from District Headquarter Doda. According to Assistant Regional Transport Officer Doda/Kishtwar Kuldeep Singh, the driver of the ill-fated minibus lost his control over his vehicle as a result of which the minibus skidded off the road and fell into 100 feet deep gorge injuring 22 persons. As soon as the news of the accident reached Assar, police and civil administration rushed to the spot and shifted the injured persons to nearby Primary Health Center Assar, from where four critically injured were shifted to Government Medical College Jammu while two others were shifted to District Hospital Doda. The critically injured persons who were referred to GMC were identified as Pawan Kumar (35 yrs) son of Karam Chand resident of Cherotha, Janak Singh (55 yrs) son of Bhagat Ram resident of Jathar, Ab Hamid (56 yrs) son Ab Aziz resident Jathi and Ranjeet Singh (25 yrs) Son of Janak Singh resident of Jathar, while Mohammad Hanief (25 yrs) son of Abdul Gani and Irshad Ahmed (35 yrs) son of Ghulam Hassain both resident of Barthund Budni were presently undergoing treatment at District Hospital Doda. The injured who are presently undergoing treatment at PHC Assar were identified as Ajay Singh (17 yrs) son of Amarjeet Singh resident of Dungli, Krishan Singh (70 yrs) son of Koka Singh resident of Sanga, Balbir Singh (27 yrs) son of Youg Raj resident of Kurmail Baggar, Ghulam Hassan (46 yrs) son of Muhammad Akbar resident of Topneil, Sohan Lal (24 yrs) son of Shib Nath resident of Ramgarh, Kunj Lal (61yrs) son of Shib Ram resident of Ramgarh, Man Singh (47 yrs) son of Churu Ram resident of Baggar, Kunj Lal (60 yrs) son of Triloku Ram resident of Halyan, Hem Raj (25 yrs) son of Prem Singh resident of Troungle, Muhammad Shakeel (35 yrs) son of Lal Din resident of Chuchater, Muhammad Yaseen (21 yrs) son of Muhammad Ashraf resident of Kurmail, Abdul Gani (65 yrs) son Abdul Aziz resident of Barthund Budne, Khurshid Ahmed (29 Yrs) son of Sana-ul-lah resident of Chuchatar, Muhammad Rafiq (22 yrs) son of Muhammad Akbar resident of Nansal, Rattan Singh (47 yrs) son Gurdass Singh resident of Kurmail and Pawan Kumar (46 yrs) son of Hari Chand resident of Baggar. When contacted Dr. Fareed, Medical Superintendent District Hospital Doda said that the condition of the two injured undergoing treatment at DH Doda is stable. He said that most among the 16 persons undergoing treatment at PHC Assar were discharged after treatment. |
