Police remand to four inter-state women pick pockets | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, May14: The four interstate women pick pockets who was arrested by Bagh-e-Bahu police station were put on three days police remand for further interrogation. According to police sources during questioning they admitted that they were active in Jammu city and had even looted number of passengers in trains and mini buses plying in city. "The arrested have been identified namely as Tahira sheikh w/o Ghulam Mohammad, Dilshada w/o Shabir,Mumtaz w/o Afzal and Shaheen w/o Javed, police said. Confirming the incident, SHO Bagh-e-Bahau Naresh Sharma told that their sustained interrogation was in progress and more recoveries and arrests expected. He said, "The women pick pockets were arrested when Rattan Lal s/o Saran r/o Janipur, serving as Operator in PHE Department, reported at Police Station Bagh-e-Bahu that while he was on his way to duty at Bagh-e-Baghu on a matador from Janipur, four women along with an infant boarded the matador from Bakshi Nagar. "One of the women asked for seat from him for the other woman upon the pretext of her being sick. He vacated the seat for the so called sick woman and stood inside the crowded matador. The other three women stood around him and stole his purse containing 2250 rupees and his identity card etc, complainant stated to police. Upon this a case FIR no.25/2012 u/s 379registered at PS Bagh-e- Bahu and investigation started. During investigation, teams of Bagh-e- Bahu Police fanned in different areas and direction sunder the supervision of SDPO City East and one such team succeeded in arresting the four pickpocket women from Bahu Fort area and effected recovery of the stolen purse, identity card and cash from the pickpockets.
