JYF demands action against erring officials | Financial irregularities in JU | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 14: The Jammu Youth Forum (JYF) has threatened to launch stir across the region for not taking action against the people who exploited the wealth and other resources of Jammu University (JU) at their will. Addressing a press conference, JYF president Balveer Kumar said that Governor, who is the Chancellor of the Jammu University, authorized the Vice Chancellor of the Jammu University to take all remedial measures/actions within his competence on the recommendations of the Enquiry Committee (headed by the Chief Secretary) which had been constituted by the Chief Minister to look into the allegations of administrative impropriety, favouritisms and financial irregularities against the previous Vice Chancellor and the officers of the University during University Council Meeting and action taken the entire Report processed without any delay time. He also said, "more than 20 days have been passed since the submission of report to the Vice-Chancellor of Jammu University. But, the Vice-Chancellor didn't initiate action. Besides, the report was also not made public." He demanded from the Vice Chancellor to initiate action against all the officials and teachers who looted the University exchequer as reported by the inquiry committee otherwise students would be compelled to start series of protests. He also demanded the immediate dismissal of all the corrupt people from their posts at the earliest. He further said that corrupt officials and teachers of the University must not be spared at any cost. It would be highly unjustified on the part of Vice-Chancellor if guilty are spared. He, however, threatened to launch stir against the Vice-Chancellor if the report is not made public. Kumar served an ultimatum of seven days to the Vice-Chancellor in this regard |
