| Governor’s message on Muharram | | | JAMMU, JANUARY 29
Governor Lt. Gen (Retd.) S K Sinha has described the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain a landmark in the history of Islam and said that it highlight the spirit of sacrifice for truth.
In a message, the Governor said that Islam stands for love and peace and shows mankind a way of life to promote harmony and brotherhood. ‘Hazrat Imam Hussain sacrificed his life while fighting evil forces and injustice’, he added.
General Sinha said that the supreme sacrifice of Imam Hussain should be a source of inspiration for people to uphold noble ideals and values of universal brotherhood, peace and amity.
