Youth arrested for duping Rs 5 lakh | | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 14: Police today claimed to have solved the case in which an employee escaped with the cash Rs 5 lakh given to him by the his employer with the arrest of a youth and his girlfriend. Superintendent of Police (SP) Rajeshwar Singh today while briefing the media persons said police started investigating the matter after owner of M/S Marblesnamely Rajesh Jain lodged a written complaint with the Channi Himmat police alleging that his employee namely Gourav Sharma has escaped with cash Rs 5lakhs which was given to him to deposit in a bank. SP South said that the police following the complaint started investigation and conducted raids at separate places to nab the accused. However following a some specific inputs, the SP said, Channi Himmat police laid a special naka at Kunjwani where they intercepted a bus and nabbed the duo last evening, while returning home. "The accused alongwith a married woman Santosh Sharma (Name Changed) a mother of a kid, were taken to the Channi Himmat police station where they were interrogated. During their interrogation, the officer said, the accused disclosed that he alongwith his beloved went to Chandigarh, and Banglore where they spent Rs 2 lakh, purchased jewelry, an Apple Mobile Phone worth Rs 45000 and other costly items. |
