Kranti Dal demands shifting of transformer in Sector-14 of Nanak Nagar | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 15: Kranti Dal has demanded shifting of a transformer in Sector 14, Railway Road opposite HP petrol pump, near Shivaji Chowk, Nanak Nagar as the locals of the area are demanding re-location as they apprehend that a mishap could take place due to its positioning. A team of Kranti Dal led by its Youth working President Jagdish Sudan, city president Rajinder Bhagat and Swamy Raj Manhas visited the area on the complaint of shopkeepers and local people about ignoring their demand of shifting transformer which could invite a mishap any day. Team interacting with the shopkeepers found that a transformer of 550 KV which is installed in front of shops is just a metre above ground and two metres away from Sonu general Store. It was installed in 1994 and the people and shopkeepers on several occasions approached PDD officials but they paid no heed to their demand for the last 18 years citing non-availability of funds. The locals alleged that they also met MLA, Gandhi Nagar and Revenue Minister Raman Bhalla but he refuses to listen to their demand and ignored it. Dal urged the PDD to shift transformer immediately and also asked the concerned MLA to release funds for it. Kranti Dal also appealed the CM who is also Power Minister to look into the matter personally at an earliest. Leaders of the Dal warned the authorities to shift transformer within 30 days otherwise face protest and added that if any incident happens , PDD will be responsible for it. |
