Bhalla visits village Malanu, listens to demands of locals | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 15: The Minister for Revenue Relief and Rehabilitation today visited village Malanu, to listen to the grievances of the locals and know their developmental and other aspirations. The locals projected their demands which among other things included the allotment of state land in their possession under Roshni Act. The people said that 350 kanal state land was in their possession for last fifty years which was the sole source of income for about fifty families living in the area. It was informed that the government was contemplating to acquire the land for establishment of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, despite the fact that they are entitled to the ownership rights under the Roshni Act owing to their possession of the land for last fifty years. The Minister gave a patient hearing and assured them that their grievances would be projected at the appropriate forum for early redressal. The Minister said that the government was abreast with the problems of the rural people who have small land holdings and their rights would be protected as per the prescribed norms. |
