Govt fails to redress problems of KP youth: BJP | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, May 15: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Migrant Cell has took a strong exception to the complete silence and apathy shown by the state government towards the problems of the KP youths who are on chain hunger strike for last more than 40 days in support of their demands at Relief Commissioner office premises and at Jagti Township. In a meeting convened under the chairmanship of BJP Migrant Cell president Bharat Bhushan Bhat (Gosani), the members took stock of the on going developments. The members expressed dismay and anguish over the deaf ears and blind eyes type of response so for shown by the state government and cautioned the concerned authority to desist from treating the problems of the displaced community callously and casually. Bhat also reiterated the demand of enhancement of the monthly relief from the present meagre amount of Rs 1250 to a minimum of Rs 5000 per month per soul. He wondered how the Government thought a migrant making his/her sustainability possible with this petty amount when the prices of all the essential 'commodities , food grains, vegetable, milk, medicines and transport are sky rocketing virtually breaking the backbone of an ordinary man the members appealed the government to look in to this problem and take concrete steps towards resolving the same the displaced people are desperate over this issue in particular which is directly related to making their both ends meet. |
