| Yashpal Nirmal conferred with Leela Devi Award | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, May 15: A young writer, cultural activist, folklorist, theatre activist, researcher and social worker of the state Yashpal Nirmal was awarded with Leela Devi Award-2012. This award was given by a literary, cultural and social organization of the State Progressive Youth Society, Ramnagar, Udahampur .
It is to mention that this award is given by the Society every year in recognition to one's contribution in the field of literature, art, culture and social work.
Yashpaul Nirmal has been doing a marvellous job in the promotion of Dogri literature, culture, folklore, theatre, journalism and social work for the last sixteen years. There are fifteen books on different topics to his credit. Earlier to this, Yashpal has been awarded with Ratarkarita Bharti Award (2004) by Kamala Bharti, Bihar( a cultural and literary organization), Jammu Kashmir Rattan Award (2010) by Jaimini Academy of Panipat and Duggar Pardesh Yuva Sangathan Samman (2011) by Duggar Pardesh Yuva Sangathan, Jammu.
Presently Yashpaul Nirmal is. working as Research Assistant in Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Jammu and is associated with many leading non-governmental organizations of the state as well as national level.
He is also associated with many literary and cultural magazines of the state as well as of national level. |
