| MIER College organises workshop on preparing research proposals | | | early times report
Jammu , May 15: The PG Department of MIER College of Education organized a two day workshop on 'How to Prepare a Research Proposal' with an objective of orienting the students pursuing M.Ed regarding their dissertation. The chief resource person for the workshop was Dr. Lokesh Koul, Prof. Emeritus,Ex Dean Department of Education, H.P. University, Shimla. The sessions were chaired by Dr. Arun Gupta, Chairman MIER Group of Institutions. Dr. Renu Gupta, Director MIER, Dr. Adit Gupta, Joint Director MIER, Dr. B.L. Raina, HoD P.G. Department MIER, Dr. H.R. Shan, HoD Centre for Educational Research MIER along with Lecturers of the P.G. Deptt of Education were also present on the occasion. The workshop was attended by all the students of M.Ed.programme, IGNOU M.Ed. and Ph.D. students also attended the workshop.
Dr.Lokesh Koul addressed the participants and suggested that surveys on various policies and interventions initiated by Government as the priority areas in the field of education can be useful topics of research. He also oriented the students about the steps involved in writing a research proposal. Each student presented his research proposal in the workshop.
The research proposals of all the 29 regular students of M.Ed. were evaluated and discussed at great length. Relevant feedback and suggestions were provided to the students and their supervisors for maintaining a quality in research.Dr. Arun.K. Gupta, in his presidential remarks, emphasised on the quality aspect of research and stressed on research with a differenceat P.G.Department, MIER. He said that the main focus of research should be quality based and should be able to create some positive impact on educational practices.
