| Non-bailable warrants against Ansari | | Multi-crore New Jammu Township scam | | early times report
Jammu, May 15 : Non-bailabale warrants have been issued against Moulvi Iftikar Hussain Ansari then Minister Housing & Urban Development presently MLA PDP for securing his presence in the Court in a much publicized multi-crores New Jammu Township Scam. Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu Pawan Dev Kotwal issued the warrants against the influential MLA.
While issuing non-bailable warrants, Special Judge Anticorruption observed that accused Moulvi Iftikar Hussain Ansari is continuously absent despite his due service and from the interim orders it is clear that Adv OP Sharma caused appearance on behalf of Moulvi Iftikar Hussain Ansari and also sought adjournment to produce latest order, if any, from the High Court and even on the previous date counsel undertook to produce the accused in Court, but accused is not present .
Court took serious note of continuously absence of Moulvi Iftikar Hussain Ansari, held that case is hanging fire since June 6, 2010 for securing the presence of accused but accused through his counsel has sought repeated opportunities to appear in the Court. It appears that the motive of the accused seems to only to delay the proceedings and as such Court has no other option except to adopt coercive measures to secure his presence and Court issued non-bailable warrants against Moulvi Iftikar Hussain Ansari then Minister Housing & Urban Development presently MLA PDP and warrant sent to SSP Crime Branch Jammu who shall ensure the execution of warrants, failing which appropriate order shall follows. |
