7 years RI to killer of father | | | early times report Jammu, May 15: Accused son who killed his father has been awarded seven years rigorous imprisonment by a sessions Court in Jammu today. 2nd Additional sessions Judge Jammu Subash Gupta today awarded seven years rigorous imprisonment to Raman Kumar who killed his father Om Parkash. The wife of the accused Gita Devi in her complaint stated that her husband killed his father as he doubted that he had illicit relation with her. On the fateful day, while the accused was beating her, her father in law( deceased) intervened, following which the accused picked up a stone and hit him on the head and killed him. Police registered a case and after completion of investigation challan was presented in Court. The Judge observed that the accused had caused the death of his own father, which is considered a " Sin" , under Philosophy of all religions, muchless of Hindu religion. He is liable for extreme punishment, which may extent to ten years. Simultaneously, he is also required to be sentenced to heavy fine. 2nd Additional Sessions Judge Jammu Subash Gupta ruled that the accused is sentenced to rigorous imprisonment for seven years for commission of offence under Section 304 Part-II RPC and a fine of Rs. 2000/- and for commission of offence, punishable under section 323 RPC, to rigorous imprisonment for six months and a fine of Rs. 500 only. Accordingly, he is sentenced. In default of payment of fine, as imposed, hereinbefore, in case of offence u/s 304 Part-II RPC, he shall further undergo imprisonment for six months and in case of default of payment of fine in case of offence u/s 323 RPC, he shall suffer punishment for one month. Both the sentences, as imposed, in case of offences under sections 304 Part-II and 323 RPC, shall run concurrently. |
