| Mangat exhorts DCs, CMOs to ensure cent per cent achievement under RCH | | | Jammu, January 29 Minister for Health and Medical Education Mr. Mangat Ram Sharma has stressed for gearing up efforts to achieve full targets under the centrally sponsored National Rural Health Mission before the close of this financial year. Minister was addressing a joint meeting of Deputy Commissioners and Chief Medical Officers of the state here today convened to review the progress achieved under NRCH. Minister of State for Health Peer Mohammad Hussain, Secretary Health Mr. K. B. Jandial, Directors of Health Services Jammu and Kashmir S. Jasbir Singh and Dr. Muzaffar Hussain, Project Director RCH Dr. Rakesh Khajuria and Deputy Commissioners of all the six districts of the Jammu division attended the meeting. Mr. Sharma said that under RCH, Rs 43 crore have been received for the current year and advised DCs and CMOs to ensure full utilization of the allocated funds within the stipulated time so that benefit of the scheme percolate at grassroots level. He said that special vigil has to be maintained for successful implementation of various aspects of the scheme and to ensure that appointments of doctors, nurses, selection of Asha, constitution of village health and sanitation committees, regularization of Rogi Kalyan Samitis and registration of health societies are completed well in time so that people get maximum benefit of the scheme. He said that DCs and CMOs who will achieve 90 per cent targets in implementation of the scheme will be suitably rewarded. He gave directions to Project Director RCH to ensure that remaining funds to concerned DCs and CMOs are allocated immediately for completion of the scheme so that timely utilization certificates are sent to central government for release of more funds. He also directed Deputy Commissioners to keep strict vigil over the district functionaries connected with implementation of the scheme. He asked doctors to ensure that people get better health services in their home districts and warned stern action will be taken against those who refer patients to the capital cities of Jammu and Srinagar which can be cured or treated at the district hospitals. Appreciating the functionaries of the health department, Minister of State for Health said that people are getting better medicare facilities at government hospitals and asked them to ensure that people get latest treatment in the health institutions of their home towns. He asked them to evolve a procedure and maintain register in all PHCs, SDHs and district hospitals to keep record of all referred cases to other hospitals with specific reasons. He asked the Deputy Commissioners to monitor construction work of departmental buildings undertaken by various agencies in their respective districts besides ensuring proper awareness campaign of the centrally sponsored schemes aimed at ensuring better healthcare facilities to the people both in urban and rural areas. |
