Congress must go for self introspection in JK' | | | ` Early Times Report JAMMU, May 15: A controversy is being alleged behind the surfacing of scams after scams within the Congress Ministers of State coalition Government. A common man in J&K is quite astonished over the crocodile tears of Congress party leaders who instead of caring for the national image of the party in a disturbed State and correction of errors are just busy in talking of conspiracies against them. No doubt, working of their coalition partner Ministers is also under clouds but that does not justify the `inefficiency' of the Congress Ministers. During the past three years, the patronage offered to each and every Congress Minister by a `God Father" in New Delhi has evoked severe discussions. The high command has remained a mute spectator to involvement of its Ministers like Taj Mohi-u-Din and Sayeed Peerzada during the recent past. Fresh exposures related to Co-operative Minister Manohar Lal Sharma is also a matter of concern. Sharma talks of hanging but seems reluctant for corrections like resignation from the Chairmanship of JAKFED & Land Development bank and sacking of illegally elected managements of leading co-operative societies like JCC Bank & Co-operative union etc. The Congress worker wants Sharma to face trial in the State Accountability Commission (SAC) before going for corrections. This, according to them, shall set an example for others. Factionalism may suit Congress high command but it needs to be stopped in J&K State in particular without any delay in view of sub-continental developments & political/administrative compulsions. As a national party, congress should not deviate from its exemplary and responsible role in J&K- self correction and coalition partner's monitoring. |
