J&K out of Santosh Trophy | | | early times report JAMMU, May 16: Losing their second league tie against Maharshtra late last evening, Jammu and Kashmir failed to qualify for the next knock-out round of pre-quarterfinals of the ongoing Santosh Trophy at Cuttack in Orissa. However, J&K finished second in the three-team group after Maharashtra topped with six points. J&K bagged three points out of a win against Arunachal Pradesh, which drew a blank. Earlier, J&K lost to Maharashtra by two goals to five in their second match. Winning both their league outings, Maharashtra qualified for knock-out stages. "Since only one team had to qualify for the next round, we had left with no other option but to pack up after yesterday's loss to Maharashtra. Boys are on way back and will be reaching Srinagar tomorrow," general secretary of Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA), S A Hamid told SAN on telephone.
