Technology Week celebrated at Model Academy | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 16: Model Academy, the prestigious school of MIER celebrated 'Technology Week' in an effort to increase awareness of the use of technology in education in the 21st century. The week long programme provided the children with an opportunity to explore the usage of technology and latest advancements made in diverse fields. It was about raising the excitement and study of technology to help inspire and create next generation of creative experts in the field of technology. The school organized an array of events and programmes that encouraged students to take advantage of many technological resources available in the school. The students were involved in demonstration of assembling the various parts of computer given by experts. In addition, they also prepared on the topics like, Your Vision of Future World, Panchtantra Stories, Places of Interest in India, J&K State - a tourist destination, Global warming, Democratic system in India, USA and China etc. The purpose was to ensure that students are competent and ethical users of technologies. The senior secondary wing in association with Model Institute of Engineering and Technology attended a seminar on "On line threats like virus and harmful software digital dangers". They also had an interactive session with the faculty members of the MIET. The students of Primary wing also showcased their technological skills by drawing different things using paint. The technology week culminated by presentation of students projects. Dr. Renu Gupta, Director MIER was very pleased to see the techno savvy students of MIER. She stressed upon the students that usage of technology was the need of the hour. She further added that children should not be addicted to it but should use technology judiciously. |
