JAMMU, May 16: District Development Commissioner, Jammu, Sanjeev Verma, today held a meeting of officers to discuss the preventive flood control measures to be taken in view of ensuing monsoon season 2012. Additional District Development Commissioner, Jammu, Chief Planning Officer, Superintending Engineers of PWD (R&B), UEED, Jammu Municipal Corporation, PHE Mechanical (Urban) & Hydraulic Circle, Jammu, Superintendent of Police, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Agriculture Officer, Deputy Director Fire & Emergency Services, Sub Divisional Magistrate of R.S. Pura and Executive Engineers of Flood Control, PWD (R&B), PHE, & Mechanical Division participated in the meeting.
The DDC highlighted various preventive measures required to combat flash floods and asked for identification of vulnerable points so that advance action is taken by the concerned departments, before onset of rainy season. |
