DDC reviews Amarnathji Yatra arrangements

KATHUA, May 16:To review the arrangements for the ensuing Amarnathji yatra, 2012, commencing from 25th of June 2012, District Development Commissioner, Kathua, Zah-ida Praveen Khan convened a meeting of District Officers here today.
Among others SSP, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Additional District Development Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, XEN PWD, PHE, PDD, RTO, Lakhanpur, Chief Educational Officer, Chief Planning Officer, Executive officer Municipal Committees, Lakha-npur and Kathua and other district officer were present on the occasion.
The meeting discussed arrangements related to stay of yatries, law and order, traffic regulation, drinking water, sanitation, power supply, Medical facilities, construction of temporary toilets, sanitation etc.
It was decided in the meeting that two committees will be constituted one to monitor the arrangements of Amarnth ji yatra and other for preparation of constituency plan.
The DDC directed the Chief Education Officer and Excise taxation officer to make available High/Higher secondary building and ETT college building along with national Highway and toll Plaza building Lakhanpur in case of any emergency and ensure all facilities provided to the yatries. He directed Medical department to deploy additional doctors round the clock at Lakhanpur and other points for the yatries besides keeping an ambulance available to meet any eventuality.
The PWD department was directed to construct temporary toilets at lakhanpur and Langer venues and also directed the PHE department to press into service water tankers. She also directed PDD officials to ensure regular power supply to the key points for Yatri's convenience.
He directed Fire Services Department to make all necessary arrangements to meet any eventuality. Besides, the Executive Officers of Lakh-anpur and Kathua were also directed to ensure proper sanitation at Langar sites and other specified areas meant for Yatris.
Ms Zahida Khan instructed CAPD Department to remain active to ensure quality eatables at reasonable rates. She also directed the BSNL officials to make provision for installing a helpline for the convenience of the Yatri's.
