ANC threatens to launch stir against unscheduled power cuts | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, May 16: Expressing concern and deep anguish over persistent unscheduled power cuts, Awami National Conference (ANC) threatened to launch a stir against PDD in case proper electricity supply is not restored within week time in Jammu region. Provincial President ANC, Gian Singh while addressing a press conference at party headquarters in Jammu on Wednesday said, "Public is suffering very badly due to long power curtailments and in spite of addressing their genuine grievances Government is giving only lame excuses which is adding fuel to the fire.' Criticizing Jammu leadership representing different political parties for ignoring genuine grievances of common man, Singh said it is very unfortunate to say that the Jammu leadership has totally failed in fulfilling their promises which they made at the time of elections. Adding further he said that these frequent unscheduled power cuts have badly affected education system as students are unable to concentrate on their studies and suffering badly due to frequent power cuts. Elaborating further Singh said that keeping in view the failure of coalition Govt on all fronts in addressing plight of general public and vote bank politics by political parties in opposition has created the need for other alternative to mitigate problems being faced by general public for the last so many years. Among other senior party leaders present in the media conference included provincial vice president Thakur Randhir Singh, Gen. Secretary Kewal Sharma, Provincial President Women wing Neelam kumari, Distt president Vijay Mangotra, Distt Youth President Raj Kumar Sharma and others. |
