Pak trained HM ultra arrested in Doda | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT KISHTWAR, May 16: Doda police claims to have arrested Hizb militant missing from Doda since 2002 from Khilani on Kishtwar-Batote National Highway some 10 km from District Headquarter Doda and recovered large quantity of arms and ammunition from his position. In a press statement issued by Doda Police, on the bases of the specific input regarding presence of a terrorist in Nalwa area under the jurisdiction of Police Station Doda, a search operation was launched in the area by a police party led by Inspector Sajjad Haider SHO Police Station Doda, Sub-Inspector Tariq Hussain Incharge Police Post Khelani under the supervision of SP Doda Mohammad Arif Rishu with overall supervision of DIG Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban Range Gareeb Dass and IGP Jammu Zone, Jammu Dilbagh Singh. During the search operation one HM terrorist identified as Tanveer Ahmed son of Nizam-ud-Din Wani resident of Bagodiyan Dhar Doda of HM outfit was arrested. Police said that as per the reports arrested terrorist was missing since 2002 and had crossed over to Pakistan Occupied Kashmir for arms training. Police said that one Chinese Pistol, Two Magazines of pistol, 30 Rounds, One Wireless Set, One Satellite Phone and Two Hand Grenades were recovered from the position of the arrested terrorist. After effecting the arrest, Doda police formally registered a case FIR No. 102/2012 u/s 3 EAO, 3/7/25 AA, 6 IWT Act of Police Station Doda against the apprehended terrorist and set the investigation into motion. Police said that during the questioning of the terrorist it was revealed that he had crossed over to PoK in 2002 via Poonch sector after joining HM terrorist outfit. He remained camped at various places in PoK and were also imparted arms training. He was again launched back by the launching operational commanders of Jammu and Kashmir to Doda to revive the terrorist activities in District Doda after the culmination of militancy in the District. Doda police termed the arrest of Tanveer Ahmed as a major success for police and a big jolt to HM who is looking for its revival in the area. It is worthwhile to mention here that Doda was only last year declared as militancy free district by the police, but latest inputs suggested that both HM and LeT have pushed its men and weapon in the area to reactivate the militancy related activities by recruiting new youth in their outfits. |
