Jammu, May 16: In a contempt petition filed by Harjeet Singh who appointed constable in the police in the year 2001 and was not allowed to join, Justice JP Singh of Jammu & Kashmir High Court Jammu Wing has issued notice to Kuldeep Khuda Director General of Police J&K to appear in person to show cause as to why he not be proceeded against for disobedience of direction of the Court.
While issuing notice of DGP J&K, Justice JP Singh after hearing Sr. Adv SS Lehar assisted by Adv Meharban Singh appearing for the petitioner whereas AAG Gagan Basotra appearing for the state observed that directions issued on December 24, 2010 which were confirmed with the dismissal of State's LPA on August 12, 2011 have not been compliance with by the respondents till date. The State Govt's decision to file appeal against the judgment delivered by the Division Bench would not provide justification to the state-respondents to avoid implementation of direction and issued notice to DGP J&K to appear in person.
