City to get more traffic signals by June 15: SP Traffic | | | Early Times report SRINAGAR, May 16: In order to streamline the traffic system in Srinagar city, Traffic signals are being installed in 34 specified places by June 15, 2012. This was revealed by Superintendent of Police, Traffic City Srinagar, Haseeb-ur-Rehman at press briefing here today. He said four such signals have recently been installed in Srinagar that has shown best results at ground level. He said 80 percent people are following these signals as per Traffic analyses in this regard. Referring to a question regarding penalizing traffic violators, Haseeb said that 15 days time will be given after the work of installing traffic signals is over by June 15, 2012 after that nominal fine will be realized from violators. He, however, urged people to strictly follow traffic signalling in the city to maintain the hassle free traffic movement. He said our cops always remain on roads to assist people to follow the newly introduced system. In an another question regarding use of tinted glasses, Haseeb said that public should support the removal of tinted glasses, as it has been banned by Supreme Court. |
