| SRTC-VRS Employees Association protests | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 16: All J&K SRTC Volunteers Retirement Employees Association led by its president Dev Raj Bali, held demonstration at Press Club here today. The protesters strongly criticized the State Government and J&K SRTC management for not putting case of VRS/GHS employees in Board meeting held on April 10, 2012. They said that though they have given their prime youth for the services of J&K SRTC but they have not been given full benefits/dues till now. The protestors alleged that they have been unnecessarily harassed and the Govt and the J&K management backed out from the commitment made with the VRS and retired employees of J&K SRTC. "We have been deceived by the Govt. as it had promised that one who takes the VRS/GHS whose case will be settled within 60 days but we have been struggling for our dues for the last 3 years and are suffering for no fault of ours, they said.
Speakers also highlighted the main demands of VRS including 126 slabs of cost of living allowance wef January 2016 and pending arrears of COLA since 1999 and benefits of 6th pay commission w.e.f 1st January 2006. Among those who participated in the protest were DN Sharma, Prem Nath, Surjit Singh, Mohd Sharief, Asan Elahi, Javed Iqbal and Sain Mohd. |
