| Kargil, May 18 : A tunnel at Zojjila and an Airport in Kargil is very important for the overall development of Kargil as well as from the Strategic point of view. This was stated by the GOC 14 Crops Lt Gen Ravi Dastane while talking to our Correspondent Anayat Ali at Helipad Kargil. He termed the people of Kargil as peace loving population and always helps Indian Army wheather it be War time or Peace time. The GOC 14 Crops was on the last visit Kargil as the GOC as he is promoted for the next Rank.
Answering to a question about the development of Chinese Forces in Pak Occupied Gilgit Baltistan, Lt Gen Ravi Dastane said that armed force of every nation remains vigil for any kind of challenges and being ready is its job, likewise Indian Army is ready for any kind of Challenges. He added that Indian army is fully equipped with modern technology and are using these technology upto the best possible limit. The GOC said that with the development of the Nation and its economy, the Indian army is also developing and is becoming more powerful.
Earlier the GOC had a meeting with the Chief Executive Councilor LAHDC Kargil Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan and the Executive Councilors, Councilors and other prominent persons of Kargil. Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan presented a Gift to Lt Gen Ravi Dastane on behalf of the people of Kargil and the Hill Council. Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan termed the GOC a cooperative and people friendly person and a friend for the Development of Kargil. He also laid Wreath at Kargil War Memorial and presented homage to the martyrs at Helipad Kargil. The GOC later interacted with the Jawans and asked them to be fit and prepare for any kind of challenges. Lt Gen Ravi Dastane also presented a Memento to Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan and the LAHDC Kargil. On this occasion the Executive Councilor Haji Ghulam Amir Kamran and Punchok Tashi, Councilors, GOC 8 Mountain Division Lt Gen Ramond Naronha, Commander121 Infantry Brigade Brigadier Shami Raj, SSP Kargil Javed Iqbal Mattoo, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil Kacho Hassan Khan and other officers and prominent citizens of Kargil were present. |
