Early Times Report5/19/2012 12:34:12 PM
Jammu, May 18 :Reaffirming their resolve to start the two month long Amarnath yatra on Jesht Purnima falling on June 4, the activists of various Hindu organizations took out a motor cycle rally here today to create mass awareness in this regard. The rally was organized by Bajrang Dal from its Shakti Dal Ashram Rehari to Press Club and the activists of Shiv Sena Hindustan, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) Kranti Dal, Youth for Social Change, Ram Sena and ABVP participated in it.It rally was led by Neeraj Dhonerya state convener BD, Vikal Parihar its co-convener and SSH state vice president Vikrant Kapoor. The rallyists warned that they will not budge an inch from its stand and not allow any interference of the Government in two month long Amarnath yatra which as per Puranas should start from Jesht Purnima and culminate on Sawam Purnima. This tradition was in existence since times immemorial but after the taking over as the chairman of the Shrine Board by Governor N N Vohra in 2008 the yatra period was reduced to 50 days, 45 days and so on, said Mr Dhonerya. He said this time the Hindu organizations will not tolerate any change in the schedule of yatra and they are ready to resist any action as Board was playing with the sentiments of Hindus with repeated curtailments in yatra duration for last three years. He reiterated that Yatra will start as per tradition on Jesh Purnima falling on June 4 and it case any attempt was made by the Government to stop Bajrangis who will lead the yatra on that day the Hindo organizations will launch the nation-wide movement. The Government has no right in interfering in the yatra date and duration as the same is the prerogative of religious bodies of Hindus and in case the Government or Board will again try to create hurdle this time the Bajrangis will put to roads all over country. He said the 21,000 bajrangis are all set to reach Jammu on June 2 to participate in the first batch of yatra next day to holy cave of Lord Shiva in Deep Himlayas in Kashmir Valley. Slogans like Bum Bum Bholey and Har Har Mahadev rent the air as the rally left Shakti Ashram. Waving saffron flags the rallyists said that they will not budge an inch from their stand on the duration of Amarnath yatra, which as per tradition should run for complete two months. Prior to its culmination at Press Club the rally passed via Rehari, Kachi Chawni, Parade, Purani Mandi, Super Bazar, Shalamar Chowk, City Chowk, Indira Chowk and Jewel Chowk.
Mr Dhinerya warned Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) and State Government of serious consequences in case it tried to play with the sentiments of crores of Hindus by decreasing the yatra duration this time again
