| Bhaderwah, May18 : Bhaderwah Police has foiled a bid to smuggle cement meant for various government developmental project when special police party of Bhaderwah Police conducted raids at Randa Link Road and stopped the bid of unloading cement from a Tata mobile bearing registration number JK02AG 4896. Involvement of the Irrigation and flood and control department Bhaderwah officials cant be ruled out in this nexus, sources added. Sources said that the vehicle was seized the cement bags along with vehicle and police has started investigating the matter. Sources said that nexus of concerned authorities can't be ruled out as Office of the Executive Engineer (Irrigation) Bhaderwah is just at stone's throw. "During the investigation the police reportedly Irrigation department depot at Sarna village has been raided when last report came in and the records of depot have been seized following the reports of embezzlement of government supply cement, sources added. SDPO Bhaderwah Jameel Ahmed and SHO Surinder Rao when contacted revealed that following the reports of 'sale of govt supply cement in black market' the police on a specific information constituted a special team to check illegal sale of departmental cement. Police teams till date have recovered 52 bags of Cement Marked as 'Not for Sale' while during investigation it was revealed that one Shaid Hussain s/o Bashir Ahmed r/o Kotli having hand in glove with some employees of the irrigation department has illegally been procured cement bags from store. Police after raiding the residence has arrested Shaid Hussain on spot while unloading the cement who later had confessed that he was going to sell the cement to one Umesh Kumar of Randa link road. "Meanwhile employees and store keepers of Irrigation Department Bhaderwah are being questioned, but no arrest has been made, said SHO Bhaderwah Surinder Rao further adding a case under section 409/109 3/7 crpc FIR no 54 of 2012 at PS Bhaderwah and a man hunt has been launched to nab other culprits . |
