| Kathua, May 18: Irrigation Office Building falling under the jurisdiction Panchayat Keerian has turned into a cattle shed courtesy concerned officials as none bothers about the venturing of stray cattle after the office is being defunct.
According to locals the said Irrigation Office was established for facilitating the people of the Panchayat to overcome the irrigation related difficulties and problems faced by the farmers but after soon it is now converted into cattle shed where the people are taking their animals to stay.
Resenting the non functioning of the office facility in the farming belt, Sarpanch of the Ram Nagar Gandyal Rajesh and Sarpanch of Keerian Karan Singh alleged the irrigation department for not providing the smooth irrigation facilities to farmers.
They lamented that the said office has turned into a unwanted weed house and it is certain that the building may collapse at any time as the concerned authorities are not paying attention to the govt facility in shambles. They said that there is a need for the construction of toe wall to protect the distributaries along with Kirian road. They also demanded that after ten days paddy crop is to be sown for that water is required in abundant quantity but till date the irrigation facility has not been provided to the farmers. |
