NC leader counters PDP's tall claims of good governance | | Early Times Report | 5/19/2012 12:49:55 PM |
| Banihal, May 18: National Conference leader, Sajjad Shaheen toady assailed the PDP saying that PDP's hue and cry over water resources is meaningless as during its 3 years rule in J&K, the party took no steps regarding utilization of natural resources of the State. Reminding PDP leaders that during the ruling of NC, mega power projects at Baglihar, Dulhasti, Uri, Salal and others were taken up as a part of its long term strategy to make J&K a self reliant state in power sector during Omar led regime, NC leader said, "the Indus treaty was between India and Pakistan on Sept 19, 1960 when Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah was in jail." Targeting PDP leadership he said that it was the rule of PDP that brought the stigma of the second most corrupt state of the country and mal practices and embezzlements of corruption in all fields of life. He added that PDP and its leadership lives on falsehood and its doublespeak has been unmasked before the public. He said National Conference was not only "a movement but is a history in itself " and has rendered countless sacrifices for the absolute freedom of people of Jammu & Kashmir from autocratic rule. He said like in the past, conspiracies are being hatched to weaken the National Conference in the state and sudden emergence of PDP as a political party was a part of this conspiracy which was the brain child of BJP leader and then Union Home Minister Lal Krishen Advani. |
