Noted medico screens cancer patients at Rajouri

Rajouri, May 19: The medico from Fortis Escorts Hospital, Amritsar raised hopes at Rajouri today during a cancer screening camp helt at the district hospital in collaboration with Directorate of Health services Jammu and District Health Society Rajouri.
Renowned Dr. Rajive Gupta MD Medicine DNB Medical Oncology who is working as a consultant Medical Oncologist and Haematologist in Fortis Escorts Hospital, Amritsar was the Consulting Doctor.
Saugat Biswas (IAS) District Development Commissioner, Rajouri inaugurated the camp at 9.30 am with hailed the team that made the camp possible. Dr. Zahoor Ahmad Shawl Chief Medical Officer Rajouri presented the welcome address and highlighted the carious achievements of Health Department in District Rajouri .
DDC Rajouri being the chairman of District Health society Rajouri in his address welcomed Dr. Rajiv Gupta Cancer Specialist and asked him to conduct such awareness camps even in the remote areas so that maximum people could be benefitted. A technical session on continuing Medical Education was held in which Prof. (DR.) Irshad Ahmed Hamal Vice chancellor of BGSB University Rajouri was the Guest of Honour. Dr. Anice Altaf Dy. CMO Rajouri welcomed him and all the Doctors/academicians from the District. Prof. Hamal in his address appreciated the efforts of Dr. Rajeev Gupta and his team Coordinator Rajeev Verma for organising such an informative session. He also appreciated the efforts of District Health Society for organizing such camps and offered his help for organising such activities. He also acknowledged the efforts of members of Escorts Hospital who are working for a social cause. It is pertinent to mention here that Dr. Rajiv Gupta examined nearly 151 patients and about 35 Patients were referred to the Govt Ghandi Nagar where further diagonisc work up and treatment will be carried out. For the public information Cancer OPD is regularly working for six working days at Govt. Hospital Ghandi Nagar in room No 308 and there is creation of Indoor day care chemotherapy facility to help the cancer patients. Dr. Abdul Rashid "A" Grade Specialist was the Chairperson and in his address thanked Dr. Rajive for his wonderful lecture, which proved to be very informative. Mr. Bilal Rashid Assistant Director Planning conducted the proceedings of the stage and Dr. Chaman Bhasin, Medical Superintendent presented the Vote of Thanks. Prominent among others were Prof. M.A Lone Principal GDC Rajouri, Dr. Nissar Chowdhary , Prof. Saleem Wani chairman Himalyan Society ,Mr. Suneet Gupta Dy. Registrar BGSB University.
