| Hawala Racket busted | | 3 arrested alongwith worth Rs 5 lakhs | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 19: In a major success the Jammu police today busted a Hawala racket with the arrest of three persons alongwith worth Rs 5 lakhs of Hawala money.
According to police following a specific tip of information, a team of SOG Jammu and PS Nagrota lead by Javid Iqbal Naaz DySP and Inspector (SOG) Rakesh Sharma intercepted vehicle (JK01N-5483 Tavera) on its way from Srinagar to Jammu at Asherkund Bridge NHW falling under the jurisdiction of P/S Nagrota.
"During frisking of the passengers of the vehicle police arrested three suspects namely Zahid Latif (Police Constable) S/O Abdul Latief R/O Upper Gujjar; Taslim Arfan S/O Ghulam Qadir Sheikh R/O Mohalla Dalpatian, Jammu and Rakesh Kumar S/O Devi Dass R/O Shaheedi Chowk Jammu and effected recovery Hawala money amounting to Rs 5 (five) Lakhs Indian currency from their possession, police added.
Police added that a case FIR No.128/2012 U/S 17/21 ULA, 121/122/123/124 RPC has been registered and investigation taken up by SDPO Nagrota. |
