| Inter-school meet of Verinag zone concludes | | |

SRINAGAR, May 19: Annual inter-school competitions for boys and girls under-14 and under-17 age groups of Verinag zone, organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), concluded at Boys High School Verinag, here today.
In the prize distribution function, District Youth Service and Sports Officer, Dr Mohd Sumbal was chief guest who gave away the prizes to the winners and runners-up teams. Mushtaq Ahemd Khan, District Coordinator of PYKKA and Taslima Jan, Headmaster High School Verinag were guests of honour.
This competition was held under the supervision of Zonal Physical Education Officer (ZPEO), Ali Mohd Shah, and Mohd Iqbal Lone, zonal coordinator activities.
The Results:
UNDER-14 yr: (Finals) Volleyball: Syed Faizal Shah School beat MS Verinag. Kabbadi: MS Zamalgham beat MS Shahpura. Kho-Kho: Syed Faizal Shah Zamalgham and MS Zamalgham declared joint winners.
UNDER-17 yr: Girls Kho Kho: HSS Verinag beat HS Sadiwara. Girls Volleyball: HSS beat HSS Nowgham. Boys Kho-Kho: HS Verinag beat HS Sadiwara. Kabbadi: HS Verinag beat HS kapran. Boys Volleyball: HS Verinag beat HS Sadiwara. |
