DIET organises seminar-cum- awareness campaign on Health Education | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, May 19:Urging the teaching community to inculcate high moral values and respect for healthy living among the students, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Samoon said that moral and health education is imperative for building a healthy society.Dr. Samoon was addressing seminar cum awareness campaign on Health Education organised by DIET, Srinagar today. Dr. Samoon said that teachers are the architects of society and should fulfil their duties with devotion. He urged the experts to work for reforming the education sector so that students are provided best education for building their characters and shaping their futures. He said that students need to be educated about the healthy living as only a healthy body can have a healthy mind. The students of 29 education institutions of the Srinagar read their papers in the seminar. Later, commendation certificates were awarded to best speakers.The students of Welfare Education Institute, Bemina, Ms. Ghazia Abdullah secured Ist position while Ms. Rafia Beigh of Public School, Srinagar secured 2nd and Miss. Nadia Yousuf of GMS, Khushipora bagged 3rd position.The Divisional Commissioner announced Rs. 30000 for the participating students from Red Cross fund. Among others, Principal DIET, Srinagar, Syed Ajaz Qalander, Joint Director, Education, Senior Officers of Health department, faculty of the Institute and students were present on the occasion. |
