Jammu, May 19: The unemployed educated youth and the under employed educated /skilled government employees expressed concern over the reports that a committee headed by Chief Secretary Madav Lal has submitted report on the demands of the regular government employees that includes enhancement of retirement age. J&K Under Employed and Unemployed People Welfare Association has been recently formed to address the grievances of the unemployed youth , daily wage employees , contractual employees , Consolidated wage employees , under employed employees ( Rahbar e Taleem,Rahbar e Zarat, etc ) those employed against non pensionable posts wef 1st January 2010. The association shall pursue the cause of those who have to seek employments and those who are still to be placed in regular grade.
The association toook serious notice of the fact that on the one hand the government has issued a SRO in Oct 2011 for making new appointments at reduced wages even against regular posts , daily wagers working in PDD /PHE for last over 10/ 15 years are not regularized and pension for new employees has been discontinued where as on the other hand the government is thinking of increasing the retirement age of the employees beyond 58 years. The sub committee headed by Chief secretary consisted of regular employees and has recommended the benefits only to older employees ignoring the cause of the new employees and the under employed. The association appealed to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and the Cabinet Sub Committee headed by Finance Minster Ab Rahim Rather and its members Taj Mohi ud din, Ali Mohammad Sagar, Peerzada Mohammad Syed , Surjeet Singh Salathia not to accept recommendations of the Employee Committee to increase retirement age.
