Gujjar Mahasabha demands special implementation of central schemes | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 19: Demanding special implementation of various Central Government Scheme in J&K State, Akhil Bharitya Gujjar Mahasbha Organizing a one Day Gujjar Panchayat at Gujjar Conference hall in Rajouri dsitrict. In a meeting of the senior members of the Mahasbaha held in Jammu today, it was decided that time has come when Gujjar community should take immediate or collective steps to mount a pressure on present State Government led by chief minister, Omar Abdullah to provide food security to nomadic tribes along with rehabilitation package. The Gujjars - a major Schedule Tribe community of Jammu and Kashmir urged for developing a sustainable approach to boost 'Tribal Economy' which is at the verge of collapse due to poverty, illiteracy and globalization. Speaking in the meeting, President of the Gujjar Mahasabha , Ishfaq-ur-Rehman Poswal said that Omar led Government has been proved failure to fulfill the aspiration of this tribal community. Because this Government has not been able to restore confidence among Gujjar and Bakerwals living in the J&K State. Because of various reasons, which included Lack of Transparency in its working, Its Faliure to implement various Central Government Sponsored schemes meant for the welfare of Gujjar and Bakerwal Community in the J&K State, utilization of funds released for the upliftment of the Nomadic community, Non creation of Ministry of tribal Affairs etc. Ishfaq -ur-Rehman say that they will not tolerate this kind of injustice with the Gujjar community I the State and will raise their voice against this discriminatory attitude of Government time and again. |
