JAMMU, May 19: Police today rescued 14 bovine animals and arrested three smugglers who were taking the animals on foot to Punjab. They were arrested by police during checking at Marta Nagrota in Basohli area of Kathua. They were identified as Lal Hussain, son of Ilam Din of Maggar khud, Kathua, Manzoor Hussain, son of Sattar Din of Chak Drab Khan, Kathua, and Abdul Ghani, son of Surmoo of Maggar khud, Kathua. Police had registered a case against them.
4 held with 100 kg of trillium govanianum Kathua, May 19: Four persons were today apprehended by police from Nuk Nali forests of Bani, Kathua, along with trillium govanianum, a rare herb. They were identified as Surinder, son of Brij Lal of Sunu Bhandal, Himachal Pradesh, Chamru Ram, son of Dum Ram of Sunu Bhandal, Khem Raj, son of Krishan Chand of Barmota, Bani, and Pawan Kumar, son of Payar Chand of Bandh Ghat, Bani. A total of 100 kg trillium govanianum was recovered from their possession. A case was registered against them at Bani police station. |
