Four killed in road mishaps | | | Jammu, May 19 : Four persons were killed in two separate mishaps on Jammu Srinagar highway at Ramban district. According to the police, a truck JK014B-9210, when its driver lost control over the vehicle, following which, it skidded off the road and fell into the deep gorge, leaving three persons injured critically at Chamalwas in Ramban district. Soon after the mishap, police said, rescue teams rushed to the spot and they evacuated injured to the hospital for treatment where they were pronounced as brought dead by the doctors. The deceased persons were identified as Gopal Dass (driver) son of Desh Raj of Power House in Udhampur, Romesh Kumar son of Bhagat Ram of Ramnagar, and Sanjay Kumar son of Bhaghat Ram of Ramnagar in Udhampur district. Meanwhile, a tanker bearing registration number JK02T-6377 crushed to death a padistrain at Ramban, when the victim was crossing the road. The deceased was identified as Rattan Raju. Police have seized the truck and arrested its driver, while the body of the deceased was shifted to the hospital for post mortem.
