Militancy has still not decreased in Valley: Lt Gen Hasnain | | | ANANTNAG, May 20 : Stating that militancy in the valley has not decreased and a huge quantity and arms and ammunition was still dumped in the valley, GOC of 15 corps, Lt Gen S A Hasnain today refused to make any comment on AFSPA revocation and Leh incident. Interacting with media on the sidelines of a function at Qazigund here, he said, "In summer, militancy related incidents have increased in the valley." "Whenever normalcy comes back in valley, criminal elements try to disturb the peace here," Lt Gen Hasnain said. "There is a large quantity of explosives dumped in the valley and we are recovering them every day and to effect more recoveries, we have to strengthen the intelligence units," he asserted. He refused to comment on AFSPA and the recent incident that took place at Leh. He earlier addressed a large gathering of Kashmiri Pandits at Awami Sunwie and assured them full army support for their rehabilitation and return on the pattern of 'corporate social responsibility'. The function was organised by organized by 2 sector RR under the aegis of Victor Force. Deputy commissioner, Anantnag, was also present on the occasion. 15 KPs were honored by GOC 15 Corps for their work in the upliftment and betterment of their community.
