Early Times Report

JAMMU, May 20: An Indian adaptation of a Japanese short story was presented here at Natrang Studio Theatre, Kachi Chawni in its Sunday Theatre Series this week as the play 'Nanha Nakalchi' which was directed by Sumeet Sharma.
In the play 'Nanha Nakalchi', a boy named 'Lucky' is shown as a very nasty and mischievous child. As his school is off for the summer vacations he practices different ways to amuse himself but nothing could please him and make him much happy then he devised a weird way for his amusement, he started imitating everyone around whether or not that person is known to him. He repeats all the actions and words what the others say, this eventually frustrates the person and lucky is all happy to celebrate his win. 'Pinki' was looking for her dog 'Tommy' in the park, he also started doing so. 'Gollu' was already sad that his parents are not taking him to a far off place in the vacations, he started copying him also and finally gives him a tight slap in the return of his loose one. After looking all this 'Chandu', a young boy comes to the rescue of all. He discusses with Pinki & Gollu that how could they teach him a lesson. Many schemes were made, Chandu suggested that they should do something which Lucky cannot copy but there was nothing like this as he could sing, dance, act and do whatever others may do. They decided why not to trap him in his own web, nothing may be much frustrating to an imitator than being imitated. When Lucky arrives all three started to copy whatever he does, this frustrated him so much that he started crying and pleads for pardon. Thus the acknowledged the validity of the old saying 'As you sow so shall you reap' in a very apt manner. Gopi Sharma as 'Lucky', Kritika Bhau as 'Pinki' and Chander Pratap Singh as 'Gollu' all three child artists did remarkably well and were much appreciated for their acting.
