Dogri Sanstha organises seminar on Young Writing in Dogri | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 20: A day long seminar on "Young Writing in Dogri" was organized by Dogri Sanstha, Jammu in Press Club here today. Khalid Husain, an eminent Punjabi writer, was the chief guest in the inaugural session, which was presided over by Shabbir Mujahid, Director, DD Kendra, Jammu. A large number of prominent writers and intellectuals participated in the seminar. Three scholarly and informative papers were presented in the seminar on various aspects of young writing in Dogri and the paper reading session was presided over by Prof. Baldev Singh. Among paper readers Susheel Begana dealt with the trends in poetry being written by young writers, Dr. Bansi Lal's paper critically reviewed the prose where as Sureet Hosh in a thought providing, paper dealt with the present state of young writing, its shortcomings, and problems and made some very useful suggestions for future. Paper reading session was followed by a lively interaction between the audience and the paper readers. Khalid Husain, Chief guest in the inaugural function stated that this seminar is a very timely and much needed effort to assess the state of affair of young writing in Dogri. He said that such seminars not only bring to the fore the significant works being done by the young writers but also inspire the young writers to use their talent in a more meaningful and focused manner. Earlier, Prof Lalit Magotra, President of Dogri Sanstha while welcoming the participants of the seminar said that the real health of the literature can be gauged from the writing of the younger generation. |
