Early Times Report

BHADERWAH, May 20: Senior Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) leader Mohammad Sartaj Madni today said that the present government headed by National Conference has completely failed to address grievances of the people so the residents of this State have been looking towards PDP to get their aspirations addressed. Addressing a public meeting at Bhaderwah, Madni said that previous PDP led regime had set an example of good governance and the people have realized that only this party has the vision and conviction to solve their problems. "Programmes and policies of the PDP being formulated after incorporating wishes and aspirations of all regions and sub-regions of the State", he said adding, "during tenure of PDP government equal treatment was given to all sections of the society and the feeling the discrimination or neglect was removed to the large extent." He, however, regretted that state has been plunged into unprecedented crises due to wrong policies of the present regime. "People have to launch agitation even for getting basic amenities like ration, power or drinking water", he said and added that every section of the society is agitating for one or the other issue. Madni, while highlighting the problems being faced by the residents of Bhaderwah, said that this belt has huge tourism potential but the state government has failed to exploit the same. He reminded the gathering that it was during the regime of Mufti Mohammed Sayeed that comprehensive policies were formulated to development of the erstwhile Doda district.
Addressing the meeting, senior PDP leader Peerzada Mansoor Hussain said that Mufti Mohammad Sayeed as Chief Minister of the State had set an example of good governance.
