Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) has termed the BJP campaign against the state flag as a political gimmick to gain cheap publicity.
Reacting to the BJP campaign, PCC spokesperson, Ravinder Sharma said it is astonishing that the top BJP leadership in the country has been talking of finding “out of box solutions” within the frame work of humanity to the Kashmir problem but on the other hand BJP State Unit has been misleading the masses of the state.
Sharma said the BJP state unit should explain the double standard and stop befooling and exploiting the people of the State Several senior BJP leaders have taken oath under the state constitution and getting salary and pensions like Syed Ali shah Geelani but at the same time denouncing, disowning and disrespecting the state constitution and the flag. The BJP should not follow of the course of Geelani, as it would only help the forces inimical to peace and the emerging scenario in the sub-continent.
