Highest 31 PoK guests among 60 cross sides on LoC in Kashmir | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, May 21 : Highest number of 31 guests from Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) arrived here this afternoon while only three Kashmiris crossed over to other side of the Line of Control (LoC) to meet their relatives separated in 1947. As many as 26 returnees also crossed sides at Kaman post, the last Indian military post on this side of the LoC in Uri sector, which was thrown open on April 7,2005 to enable families divided during partition to meet each other. Official sources said here this afternoon 31 POK guests, including eleven women and eight children, arrived at Kaman post after crossing the Aman Setu, peace bridge on foot.This was the highest number of POK guests visiting Kashmir valley since January this year. The earlier highest was 24 POK resident who visited here on May 7. They said eleven Kashmiris, who had gone to POK in previous buses also returned to their homes today after completing stay across the LoC. Three Kashmiris, including two females also crossed to other side of the LoC to meet their relatives in POK, they said, adding 15 residents of POK who were here also returned to their homes. |
