| JKNPP organizing Migrants Maha Panchayat | | | Jammu | Jan 29 Jammu and Kashmir National Panther Party (JKNPP) has decided to hold a one day ‘Jammu Migrants Maha-Panchayat’ at Exhibition Ground, here on February 4, to deliberate on the problems being faced by the migrants of Doda, Rajouri, Poonch, Udhampur, Border migrants and others and press the government for their redressal. Balwant singh Mankotia MLA and working President JKNPP in a press the Jammu migrants in Assembly and other forums for redressal of their problems including rehabilitation, relief as par with Kashmiri migrants, ration and compensation for non-cultivation of there lands. The callous attitude of the Govt. has forced the Jammu migrants to feel alientated and loose faith in the constitution of India, that is why they observed Republic Day as Black Day, in protest against the flouting of Supreme Court directions by the state government, said Mankotia. He said that JKNPP, time and again has asked the government to fulfill its commitment towards the Jammu migrants including provision of proper rehabilitation, ration and relief at par with other migrants, but nothing seems to be moving in that direction. Mankotia alleged that the coalition government’s slogan of equal treatment to all the three regions is to hoodwink the gullible people of Jammu and Ladakh region while the preferential treatment is being given to people of Kashmir region only. He said that keeping in view the discriminatory attitude of the state government, JKNPP has given a call for Jammu Migrants Maha-Panchayat on Feb.4, to deliberate on the issue and decide further course of action.
