Gujjars flay govt for not paying attention to their plight | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT RAJOURI, May 21: Akhil Bharatiya Gujjar Mahasabha (Jammu and Kashmir Chapter) held a meeting today to discuss various issues concerning to youth and Gujjar community of district Rajouri. While addressing the gathering, Eshfaq Ur Rehman Poswal state president, Gujjar Mahsabha said that the people of Rajouri and Poonch are facing acute hardships but unfortunately government is not paying any attention to their plight. He said that National Youth Corps (NYC) was framed by the state government to render services in different sectors, but after the gap of two years the volunteers are being deprived of their salaries. Poswal said that Gujjar Mahasabha would be at the fore front with the National Youth Corps volunteers to fight for justice. He appealed to the other communities also to come forward and support these hapless youth, who are being deprived of their genuine rights by the state government. Poswal appealed to the youth in general to take the benefits of the schemes like Himayat and Udaan launched by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. The Gujjar leader said that it is unfortunate that inter district recruitment has been banned by the state government due to which several posts meant for ST, OBC and ALC category in various districts in the state remain unfilled, which is absurd.
