After man deposed to having murdered, buried his wife's 2nd husband, police exhumes body | | | early times report JAMMU, May 21: A man, who allegedly killed and buried the second husband of his wife about nine months back at Kot, 10 km from here near the Kot-Bhalwal central jail, today confessed before police to the crime. He took cops to the spot where he had allegedly buried the body which was later exhumed in the presence of SP (rural) Rajesh Sharma. The accused was identified as Mohammad Younas Khan, son of Faiz Ahmad of Mendhar, Poonch, and the victim as Ghulam Rasool, son of Imam Din of Rehan in Koteranka, Rajouri. Rasool had married Younas's wife Zeenat after the couple had separated following a divorce between them. However, after some time of their marriage, Zeenat developed differences with Rasool and left him too. She again came to Younas and the duo started living together at Kot on the Purkhoo road. In September last year, when Rasool came to Kot searching for Zeenat, there was allegedly a scuffle between him and Younas. Younas then hit him on the head with a heavy stick, resulting in his instant death. Quoting Younas, the SP said he later dug out a grave close to the spot where the incident took place and then buried the corpse. Almost nine months after the incident, Younas today walked to Domana police station and confessed to the crime. Since the area fell under the jurisdiction of Gharota police station, the concerned police were informed and called to the spot, Rajesh added. He said the corpse was then recovered and shifted to the GMCH mortuary for post-mortem. It was badly decomposed, he added. While Younas had been taken into custody, Zeenat was also likely to be picked up as her role in the incident was also not ruled out by police. It is pertinent to mention here that a Rajouri police team, accompanied by a cop of Gharota police station, had come to Kot in search for Rasool over two months, or so back and met Kot sarpanch Prabhakar Singh alias Shoki. While the sarpanch had helped the police in locating Younas's house, had failed to solve the case.
