Jammu, May 21: From mundane matters which concern the very basic survival of human beings like scarcity of drinking water supply , collapsed power supply to the larger issues which shake the pillars of political corridors with bold and brazen outcry over neglect and discrimination with Jammu region, Shiv Sena leader Ashok Gupta has certainly become the epitome of protests, demonstrations, bold slogan-eering against the government or any political party which at times does with a 'no holds barred' approach.
No denying the fact that he and his followers, no matter a handful often initiate the protests on roads which sometimes snowball into major controversies, forcing the powers that be to re consider or have a relook in the decisions which face resistance. Initiated by Ashok Gupta in his ever novel ways , apparently to grab the public attention and become centre of media glare, like for instance breaking of pitchers on the roadside, wearing black robes and bands or any such unusual move which captures the attention of one and all over any burning issue.
He loses no time nor exhibits any inhibitions in calling a spade a spade and taking on the government in a very fearless and bold manner, apparently without caring for the repercussions. It is often his initiatives over certain issues which matter in Jammu and to Jammuites that other bodies and individuals get prompted to follow and raise voice, if not in same tone and tenor. In nutshell his promptness in terms of to be among the firsts to express concern over issues related to Jammu or matters like Jammu not getting its due at the hands of the government is laudable.
One however wonders why this ever agile and aver articulate leader pro active in such matters has been maintaining a studied silence over the key issue of Jammu youth having been denied and deprived of its due share in the major recruitment process in the J&K Bank from time to time and this time so distinctively and openly. Despite the fact that there has been public outcry, furore from some quarters over brazen discrimination with the Jammu yet again,Ashok Gupta, like any politicians of any mainstream political party , unexpectedly is mute over the issue. Till date he has not issued any statement, nor given any press conference , not to speak of taking the matter to roads of Jammu by staging protests and demonstrations. His silence and appears to be deliberate for it is not that the matter is not in his knowledge or he is unaware of it. One wonders an issue which pertains to jobs , career and future of a number of aspirants of Jammu seeking employment with so called prestigious organization of the state, why these front runner leaders have maintained quiet and unconcerned attitude.
