Omar Sahib is pained over infant deaths!
5/22/2012 12:10:08 AM

early times report
Srinagar, May 21: When National Conference spokesman, Tanvir Sadiq issued a statement on GB Panth hospital deaths, some quarters smiled sarcastically. Urging politicians to refrain from playing politics over the infant deaths, Sadiq said, "Omar Sahib was pained and shares the grief of the aggrieved families."
Omar ‘Sahib’ was also pained over the killing of 120 persons, mostly school going children in 2010. He said: "My heart aches for 120 martyrs." Omar's pain, however, did not get them justice. Wamiq Farooq's father is still moving from pillar to post for justice.

Omar ‘Sahib’ was also pained over the `custodial' death of Haji Yusuf. The family has nobody to fall back upon. Omar Sahib's pained heart did not get them justice.

Now Omar Sahib's heart is pained yet again over the death of infants. This time his pained heart has delivered a bit. Two hospitals in the city have been robbed off ventilators and other vital equipment and the same has been rushed to GB Panth hospital to prevent further deaths in the `haunted' hospital.

Omar ‘Sahib’, said Tanvir, visited the hospital personally and ensured appropriate steps to upgrade the hospital. Had Omar Sahib taken such steps three years ago, the situation would have been different today.

Interestingly, the state was ranked first in healthcare in the country two years ago. The NC led government missed no opportunity to trumpet its `success'. Now that the myth has been exploded, the Chief Minister must go beyond giving pain to his `tender' heart. He must show courage to accept responsibility of the tragic deaths.
