Prohibitory orders in Srinagar | | | Srinagar, May 21: The Jammu and Kashmir government today promulgated prohibitory orders in Srinagar for a period of two months to ensure peace and tranquillity in the summer capital. "The District Magistrate has imposed section 144 CrPC to prevent any kind of breach of peace and tranquillity in the Srinagar district," an official spokesman said. Under the order, there would be restrictions on assembly of five or more persons within the territorial limits of the Srinagar district, he said."However, the order will not be applicable to government-sponsored functions, marriages, funerals, cremations and examinations," the spokesman said. The order would remain in force for a period of two months. |
