Govt actively addressing unemployment problem in J&K: Omar | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, May 21: Describing unemployment as a crucial concern, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today said his government was "actively" addressing the issue through a multi-pronged strategy. "No country or the state is in a position to provide government jobs to every educated youth. "My government is actively focusing on addressing the unemployment problem through various measures besides providing government jobs to educated youth," Omar said at the foundation-laying of a Government Polytechnic College in Nagam, central Kashmir. Apparently referring to PDP, he said "youth of the state are aware of the fate of the promise made to them by some people regarding providing two employments to each family. "I am not of the grain who would lie to you for vested interests," he said. The state had provided "government jobs to over 30,000 youth during last three years besides absorbing thousands in police department," he addd. |
